Roland Sando ? General Manager Seaview West
Roland Sando has a passion for boating that stems from his early years on his parent?s sailboat where the family made a game of identifying different boats as they passed by. Since then Roland?s love of boating has remained undiminished. He has owned 10 boats of his own and is currently the proud owner of a Cal 39? sailboat which, along with his family, is his greatest source of pleasure in life.

Roland has been in the marine industry all of his working life, in both commercial and pleasure boating. He began his career at Seaview West Boatyard in 1985, where he served as the lead Travelift operator for 5 years. In 1990, he was transferred to our yard on the Ship Canal to manage Travelift operations for the 88 Ton Marine Travelift. In 1997, he took a hiatus from Seaview and went to work for Marco Marine as a Field Service Engineer and travelled the world performing field service operations on vessels great and small.

In 2000, Roland came back home to Seaview and assumed the role of Operations Manager at Seaview West. These days, as the General Manager of Seaview West Roland is responsible for scheduling, coordination, oversight and delivery of all aspects of repair and maintenance for the vessels that haulout at our Seattle location. He is a natural troubleshooter and problem solver with extensive experience in mechanical and electrical systems of all types.

Roland is an iconic fixture of the boating community, recognized as the face of Seaview West and renowned for his extensive knowledge of boats. Regardless of where he drops anchor, he never fails to meet at least one familiar customer ? who might just need a little troubleshooting assistance.

When Roland isn?t working, he enjoys spending time on the water with his family ? wife Karen and children Max and Sophie.
