FIBERGLASS REPAIR TECHNICIAN

Seaview Boatyard, Inc. has been serving the needs of the Pacific Northwest’s boaters for over 40 years. Our company is nationally recognized as an industry leader and innovator in the techniques of marine maintenance, restoration, and repair. We are currently seeking experienced, self-motivated, and reliable journeyman fiberglass repair technicians to join our crew.

Seaview Boatyard locations in Seattle and Bellingham are looking for qualified candidates who have fairing, tooling and gelcoat experience including matching of gel-coat colors, applying and finishing gel-coat, matching nonskid patterns and other decorative finishes. Ideal candidate would be a journeyman laminator proficient in repair and new construction incl. major hull lamination & transom extensions. Experience using foam core, polyurethane foam, fabrication of structural parts, painting and finishing a plus. Knowledge of the use of common measuring tools, precision measuring gages and alignment fixtures to perform structural repairs is preferred, but not essential. Materials handled include polyester, vinylester, epoxy and urethanes.

MARINE MECHANIC / TECHNICIAN

Seaview Boatyards North and West, the Pacific Northwest’s premier boatyard and yacht repair facilities located in Bellingham and Seattle currently seeking experienced, self-motivated, reliable journeyman marine mechanics to join our crew.

Our skilled technicians are highly trained and extensively experienced in all aspects of repair for sail and motor yachts, fishing vessels, and small craft. We are nationally recognized as an industry leader and innovator and have been serving the needs of the Pacific Northwest’s boaters for over 40 years.

Qualified candidates must have basic carpentry, plumbing and wiring skills as well as experience working with hand tools, industrial tools, rigging, forklifts, etc. Responsibilities will encompass all aspects of general marine mechanics including shaft work, engine alignment and running gear, installation and repair (both mechanical and electrical) of wiring, pumps, valves, piping, plumbing, and thru-hulls.

The position requires the skills to perform general mechanical and electrical work as well as systems and electronics installation and repair. The ability to troubleshoot, repair and plan the installation of recreational marine electronic equipment including marine communication, navigation, computer systems and electrical systems both AC and DC is critical. The ideal candidate will be an experienced sailor with familiar with all aspect of rigging and mechanical work for sailing vessels.
